0:08 Today’s help desk question comes from Libby at Action. Libby asks, “What’s the smartest way to organize and tag service review content to stand out in generative search?”

0:19 Great question, Libby. Let’s take things beyond the basics. Smart review optimization isn’t just about having reviews. It’s about how you structure them and label them so that generative AI can pick up, understand, and use them effectively.

0:33 Let’s break this down into four advanced steps:

0:35 Number one, go beyond chronological. Instead of listing reviews in order of date, try to group them together by common qualities such as professionalism of staff, attention to detail, and value for money. This makes it easier both for users and for generative AI to grasp what your business really excels at.

0:55 Number two, highlight key phrases naturally. If reviewers repeatedly mention things like “eco-friendly” or “always punctual,” lightly highlight or emphasize those words without editing a review to surface key selling points.

1:10 Number three, get granular with schema markup. Using smarter tags like the ones listed will help AI distinguish which parts and services of your brand are being praised and where.

1:21 Number four, use reviews strategically across your site. Don’t silo your reviews on one single page. Instead, embed naturally relevant snippets on the relevant service pages. Make sure to link back to the full review for context and make sure all of the snippets retain the correct schema markup as well.

1:39 Think about the difference between a collection of random music notes versus a properly scored piece with clear notation, instrumentation, and tempo markings. The latter creates a harmonious and understandable experience.

1:52 So to recap: categorize your reviews by theme, highlight key phrases, add specific rich STEM markup, include location and service details, and strategically embed and link reviews.
